iPhone 8 and 8 Plus Unresponsive Touchscreen After Update to iOS 11.3
I have seen a couple of instances of aftermarket touchscreens failing after a recent update to iOS 11.3. This only seems to happen on aftermarket screens, and only with the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. The after market screens worked and were tested positively by my customers before leaving the shop. Later they called me up and explained that their phones had updated to iOS 11.3, and when their phones restarted, they could not use the touchscreen to click the button to finish the update.
I have reached out to my suppliers, and they just became aware of this issue. For right now the only solution is to replace the screen with an original or premium quality screen that uses Apples original LCD
These screens are more expensive, so I will be raising my prices on the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus screen repairs.
If anyone has any issues with any iPhone 8 or 8 Plus screens they had installed at any iPhone repair shop; I would suggest you take it back to them, and have them use a premium or original screen. That has been my solution thus far.
For any of my customers who have been inconvenience by this issue, I send my sincerest apologies.
